Introduced following a speech by Vice President Kamala Harris that promoted constitutional values and equated the Jan. 6 2021 reiots with bombing of Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 Terror Attacks, President Joe Biden described the January 6, 2021 rioting at the U.S. Capitol in a scolding and angry tone, blaming former President Donald Trump for inciting the mob to defy the results of voters.

A week later, the Democratic led House of Representatives impeached then-President Trump for incitement of insurrection. The Republican-led Senate acquitted him. The House then formed a select committee to investigate what led to the attack, how the US Capitol was breached so easily, and how a similar event could be prevented in the future. Seven Democrats and two Republicans serve on the committee.

Republicans have claimed that they called for the National Guard to standby on January 6, 2021, and claim that it was Speaker of the House Nanchy Pelosi’s responsibility to oversee the security of the U.S. Capitol. Numerous media sources have debunked the claim that Pelosi was ultimately responsible.

According to the United States Capitol Police official website …
